Health Update : Clues to low back pain

Low back pain plagues nearly everyone at some point and can interfere with your life and work.

Hare a few possible causes that might explain why you're in pain :
  • lifting an object and using your back, not your legs
  • degenerative changes in the spine due to ageing
  • straining your back during activities
  • an injury to a disk in your spine
  • spondylolisthesis - a condition in which the vertebrae slips out of place and put pressure on nerves in the spine
  • spinal stenosis which occurs when the space around the spine narrows, resulting in pressure on nearby nerves and the spinal cord
  • scoliosis, an abnormal curvature of the spine
